2023 Intern Serve Day

Thompson Thrift's summer interns participated in the first-ever Intern Serve Day at Heart Change in Indianapolis, IN, on Wednesday, July 19.
Our interns spent the morning interacting and playing with the children, where they helped with learning activities, sang songs, played on the playground, and participated in water activities. Laughter and screams rang loud during the water activities, and no water balloon, squirt gun, or bucket was left unused.
Following the water activities, the group came together for an outdoor picnic catered by Maxine's Chicken & Waffles.
In the afternoon, our interns completed four projects within the community, including landscaping, planting flowers, pulling weeds, removing overgrown plants and trees, and much more at the Heart Change building and 3 of their houses.
"TT Serve Day was an impactful experience that reminded me that there is always something to be grateful for. I was doing water activities with the 3 to 6-year-olds and their excitement radiated. I also enjoyed getting to work with the other interns on outdoor work at 2 houses.
