Thompson Thrift's commercial business unit develops first-class grocery-anchored shopping centers, high-energy mixed-use projects, and state-of-the-art industrial projects across the country, with a strategic focus on high-growth markets in the southwest and southeast regions of the US. The Commercial group has developed over 150 projects ranging in size from single-tenant, build-to-suits to large-format, fully-integrated mixed-use projects, and first-in-class distribution and manufacturing facilities.
Special attention to locations that bring new business opportunities to underserved areas across our target markets is our top priority. We follow disciplined acquisition criteria to ensure the success of each development, including locating sites with regional accessibility in the path of progress and affluent high-growth markets, as well as, dynamic infill locations within top-tier established trade areas.
Our in-house leasing team works closely with the development team on the merchandising plan for each Thompson Thrift mixed-use and retail development, followed by in-depth research on new and existing businesses looking to expand or relocate in the markets we serve. We also work with some of the nation's top brokerage firms to ensure we are connecting with retailers and other businesses across all categories—from grocery & big box to smaller inline users, entertainment, restaurants, soft goods, hospitality, and other unique service-oriented tenants.

Present
Since then, Thompson Thrift's commercial business unit has grown exponentially by expanding its product offerings to include grocery-anchored, retail, mixed-use and industrial developments in new markets across the US. Thompson Thrift now has over 150 commercial developments and is continuing to grow.
