Thompson Thrift to Develop 284-Unit Luxury Multifamily Community Near Denver

DENVER (Oct. 1, 2026) – Thompson Thrift announced today the development of Alasso, a mixed-use development featuring 284 luxury apartment homes and approximately 20,000 square feet of vertically integrated retail and restaurant space in historic Golden, approximately 15 miles west of Denver. First resident move-ins are anticipated for early 2028.

Situated on approximately 9.3 acres on S. Golden Road, Alasso will offer studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartment homes with up to 1,730 square feet of living space. The development will consist of two four-story residential buildings, a parking garage with 430 structured spaces, and approximately 20,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space anticipated for restaurant, fitness, service, and other neighborhood-oriented uses.
Located at the base of the Rocky Mountain foothills, Alasso will offer convenient access to I-70 and US-6, connecting residents to downtown Denver and Boulder. Major nearby employers include the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Jefferson County, Molson Coors, Colorado School of Mines, and CoorsTek. Residents will also be minutes from historic downtown Golden as well as outdoor and entertainment destinations including South Table Mountain, Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre and several world-class ski resorts.
Golden remains one of the most supply-constrained multifamily submarkets in Colorado, with restrictive zoning, limited available land, and historically constrained residential growth. The area also has a significant gap between the cost of renting and owning, with average home values exceeding $850,000 within three miles of the site.

The name Alasso draws inspiration from Golden’s history, subtly referencing alloying and assaying, processes integral to the region’s gold-mining heritage. Gold tones incorporated into the community’s visual identity further connect its contemporary design to the city’s history.
