Meet our 2022 Summer Interns! We look forward to highlighting a few of our wonderful interns each week in our Intern Spotlight.

6/6/2022 Spotlight

Cole N.

This summer, Cole is working in Corporate Operations, where he is helping to advance a program that focuses on automating and streamlining business processes to increase efficiency. Cole is currently a rising senior studying Operations and Supply Chain Management at Indiana State University. One fun fact about Cole is that he played baseball and was a pitcher for 12 years until he graduated high school. Cole's favorite hobbies include running, lifting, bowling, playing poker, and listening to music. Cole's favorite thing about working at Thompson Thrift is meeting many different team members and having enjoyable and personable conversations.

Jack A.

This summer, Jack is working with the Land Acquisitions team in the West region to complete tax analyses, rent comps, demographic analyses, and underwriting for projects. Jack is currently a senior at Indiana Wesleyan University, majoring in Finance. His favorite hobbies include playing golf, basketball, and cornhole, and he loves to hike and watch movies, especially Marvel and Star Wars. In his free time, Jack helps coach an 8th grade basketball team, and his favorite place to vacation is Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Jack's favorite part about working at Thompson Thrift is being a part of a team that will always make time in their schedule to help answer questions or walk through a task with him when needed.

Braden W.

During his internship, Braden is working with our project management team to conduct daily tasks, such as submittals, change orders, and material shipments. Braden is a student at Indiana State University studying Construction Management. He plans to graduate in December 2022 and move on to a full-time role in the construction field. One fun fact about Braden is that he is a huge car enthusiast, and his favorite hobbies include weightlifting and spending time with his family. In his role at Thompson Thrift, Braden loves how he can relate the information that he has learned in school to what he is learning on the job, which helps him feel prepared and confident to ask and answer questions.

Emalee B.

During her internship, Emalee is working with the Commercial Leasing Team to help secure tenants for our properties. Emalee plans to graduate in May 2023 from the University of Cincinnati with a double major in Real Estate and Marketing. Emalee enjoys traveling and trying out new restaurants. Emalee's fun fact is that she is a Type 3 on the Enneagram Chart, showing she is adaptable and driven. Her favorite part about interning at Thompson Thrift is getting to be a part of bringing growth and opportunity to the communities we serve.

Josh S.

During his internship, Josh is working alongside our Residential Development team in the West region to design site plans, calculate impact fees, and assist developers with schedules and budgets. Josh is currently a rising Sophomore at Purdue University, majoring in Civil Engineering. He loves being active and spending time with his dog, Toby. Josh's favorite part of his internship is that the things he is working on are being utilized and valued by other team members, and he is able to contribute to each project.

6/15/2022 Spotlight

Casey M.

This summer, Casey is working with our preconstruction team to help complete various tasks, such as using OST for takeoffs and contacting subcontractors to find out information about upcoming projects. Casey is currently on course to graduate from Indiana State University in December 2022 with a major in Construction Management. One fun fact about Casey is that he is currently a starting defensive end on the ISU football team. When not at work, Casey loves going snowboarding, hiking in cool locations, and walking his dog. In his role, Casey loves getting to know his team members, learning new software and meeting new connections through TT.

Cody T.

This summer, Cody is working with the construction team in Lyon Township, Michigan to complete daily manpower counts, site progress photos, weekly safety audits, and much more. He plans to graduate from Indiana State University this December with a bachelor's degree in Construction Management. One fun fact about Cody is that he will be a first-generation college graduate. In his free time, he loves golfing, hiking, skiing and traveling. According to Cody, one of the best things about his role at Thompson Thrift is being present at the job site every day, learning about and experiencing the building process firsthand, which always gives him valuable experiences day in and day out.

Dayson S.

During his summer internship with the construction team, Dayson performs daily man counts, takes daily and weekly progress photos, and spends time with subcontractors to learn more about how they complete their jobs. Dayson attends Purdue University and will graduate in May 2024 with a major in Construction Management Technology and a minor in Entrepreneurship. When not at work, Dayson loves to work out and ride mountain bikes. His favorite part about his role at TT is being out in the field and learning all about the construction process.

Nate S.

In his internship, Nate is working with our Residential Development team, where he helps do underwriting for job sites in the Southeast and prepares information for major meetings, such as investment committee meetings and pipeline overviews. Nate plans to graduate in May 2023 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. One of his favorite hobbies is biking, and he loves race cars. Nate's favorite thing about Thompson Thrift is that he could go to any team member for help on a task, and they are eager to help him learn and understand more about the real estate industry.

Michael C.

This summer, Michael is working with our accounting team to prepare spreadsheets for organizing bank statements and investor calls and help complete daily accounting tasks. Michael plans to graduate in May 2024 with a double major in Accounting and Finance from Purdue University. A couple of fun facts about Michael are that he has a twin brother and is left-handed. In his free time, he loves working out, hanging out with friends, and watching football and basketball games. Michael's favorite part about his role at TT is meeting and being able to work alongside all team members, which helps him gain valuable experiences.

6/20/2022 Spotlight

Cameron S.

This summer, Cameron is working with our Preconstruction and Design team to take action item notes during meetings, help with document control, mark-up design drawings, and assure that TT Residential standards are being met. Cameron is a rising senior at IUPUI with a major in Construction Management and a minor in Business. One fun fact about Cameron is that he played baseball for roughly ten years. When not at work, his favorite hobbies are watching funny movies and listening to live music. Cameron's favorite thing about his role is learning about the pre-construction process from his team members.

Jake Y.

During his internship, Jake is working alongside the acquisitions team for the Northern Colorado region to update rent comps and market intel reports and perform preliminary underwriting for new prospective sites. Jake will be a senior this fall studying Finance and Real Estate at Indiana University. One fun fact about Jake is that he has been to Disney World 9 times. When not at work, he loves fishing and hiking. Jake's favorite thing about his role at TT is being able to research the Northern Colorado markets for sites that could ultimately become multifamily developments.

Jared E.

During his internship, Jared is helping out our project engineers by completing submittals, RFI's, and reaching out to subcontractors for contract statuses and material lead times. Jared plans to graduate from Indiana State University this December with a bachelor's degree in Construction Management. His favorite hobbies are golfing, fishing, boating, and running. One fun fact about Jared is that he can solve a Rubik's cube. Jared's favorite thing about working at Thompson Thrift is getting to work alongside some of the top project managers and learn valuable skills that will help him in the future.

Paul M.

This summer, Paul is working with our construction team to perform site progress photos, maintain the subcontractors' schedules and housekeeping, and make and execute punch lists for the exterior and interior of the buildings. Paul will be a senior this fall studying Construction Management at Indiana State University. One fun fact about Paul is that while at Thompson Thrift, he has worked with three different construction teams. Paul enjoys golfing, watching sports, and hanging out with friends. In his role, Paul loves being on-site at our projects and watching progress move forward in real-time.

Peyton G.

This summer, Peyton is working with our construction team at Avenue64 in O'Fallon, Missouri, to gain experience creating punch lists, safety audits, daily logs, and manpower counts. Peyton plans on graduating in December with a bachelor's degree in Construction Management from Colorado State University. One fun fact about Peyton is that he can solve a Rubik's cube. In his free time, he loves going golfing and clay shooting. In his role, Peyton loves getting to learn from other team members' past experiences and knowledge.

6/27/2022 Spotlight

Chris G.

This summer, Chris is working with our construction team in Port St. Lucie, FL, to assist with subcontractor coordination, city inspections, lumber inventory, safety audits, and much more. Chris plans to graduate from Auburn University in the Fall of 2022 with a bachelor's degree in Construction Management. In his free time, Chris loves fishing and is also a member of the Auburn University Bass Fishing Team. His favorite part about his role at TT is that every day is different and presents its own set of challenges.

Dominic M.

This summer, Dominic is working with our Owner's Representatives to track RFI's, visit job sites, make punch list items, and help prepare documents for project review meetings. Dominic plans to graduate from Purdue University in May 2024 with a major in Construction Management and a minor in Organizational Leadership. In his free time, Dominic loves playing and watching sports. His favorite thing about interning with Thompson Thrift is that he is always busy with something to do.

Emily D.

During her summer internship, Emily is working with the IT department doing various projects and tasks and helping fulfill incoming tickets. Emily currently attends Indiana State University and plans to graduate in December 2022 with a bachelor's degree in Information Technology Support. When not at work, Emily loves spending time with her family and friends, being outside, fishing, and traveling. One bucket list item she has is to visit all 50 states and other countries. Emily's favorite part about her role at TT is getting to help people while learning something new daily.

Logan M.

This summer, Logan is working with Thompson Thrift Residential to push projects through the due diligence and design phases and ensure projects are ready for vertical construction by collaborating with city municipalities, designers, and engineers. Logan will be graduating in May 2023 with a degree in Civil & Transportation Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. In his free time, Logan loves hiking, running, and swimming. One fun fact about Logan is that he has run two marathons. At Thompson Thrift, Logan loves being able to constantly learn from everyone in the office, even those from outside his department.

Mason W.

During his summer internship, Mason is working with the preconstruction and design team for Thompson Thrift Residential. Mason is tracking lumbar allowances, updating historical hard cost trackers, generating enumeration of plans, and assisting in design visions. Mason plans to graduate from Indiana State University in May 2023 with degrees in Interior Architectural Design and Graphic Design. When not at work, Mason loves golfing and is a huge North Carolina basketball fan. Mason's favorite part about working at TT is getting to be a part of the growth and development of the company.

7/4/2022 Spotlight

Chris T.

This summer, Chris is working alongside the land acquisitions team to help with new site underwriting, dispositions, and data analysis. Chris graduated from Indiana University in 2016 with degrees in Finance and Accounting, and he is currently pursuing a master's degree at Dartmouth College. In his free time, Chris loves cycling, hockey, and spending time with his four-year-old Airedale Terrier named Banks. Chris' favorite thing about his role is the opportunity to be surrounded by and learn from industry leaders in a fast-paced environment.

Connor L.

During his internship, Connor is working with the residential development team in the Southeast region to help with tasks during the due diligence period, schedule projects, and look over site plan designs. Connor plans to graduate from Purdue University in May 2023 with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. A fun fact about Connor is that he has done a backflip on skis once. In his free time, Connor loves hiking, disc golf, and board games. In his role, Connor loves meeting a lot of different people, working with different teams, and seeing how everyone works together to complete a project.

Dylan S.

This summer, Dylan is working in construction doing daily logs, creating safety audits, working with subcontractors, and learning about the productivity of a project. Dylan currently attends Colorado State University and plans to graduate in May 2023 with a bachelor's degree in Construction Management. One fun fact about Dylan is that he has been to 6 different countries. In his free time, Dylan loves snowboarding and surfing. Dylan's favorite part about his role at Thompson Thrift is being welcomed into a collaborative and meaningful environment where he has his own set of responsibilities.

Marco H.

During his internship, Marco is helping the construction team by reaching out to subcontractors, sending out potential change orders and commitment change orders, and finalizing delivery of possession. Marco plans to graduate from the University of Houston in May 2024 with a bachelor's degree in Construction Management. Marco's favorite musician is Kanye West, and he loves fitness and soccer. One thing that Marco loves most about his role is that he is constantly learning from other team members.

Ray B.

This summer, Ray is working with the construction management team by assisting with the submittal process, keeping track of material procurement and lead times, and working on schedule and meeting updates. Ray plans to graduate from Purdue University in May 2023 with a major in Building Construction Management. One fun fact about Ray is that he is in the Army Reserves. In his free time, he loves playing soccer and going on adventures with his dog. In his role, Ray loves seeing and contributing to the progress of a construction project.

7/12/2022 Spotlight

Dylan L.

This summer, Dylan's main tasks are getting ahead of and closing out observations and working with subcontractors to meet project deadlines. Dylan currently attends Purdue University and plans to graduate in May 2023 with a bachelor's degree in Construction Management. One fun fact about Dylan is that he was born in Canada. In his free time, Dylan loves going fishing. Dylan's favorite thing about his role is being able to problem solve on the job site.

Jacob M.

During his internship, Jacob is working with the commercial team conducting meetings with owner's representatives, general contractors, and the procurement team to learn more about current projects. Jacob plans to graduate from Ball State University in May 2023 with a major in Construction Management and a minor in Business Administration. In his free time, Jacob loves playing Dungeons and Dragons, swimming, playing disc golf, and playing in trivia events with his friends. His favorite part about working at Thompson Thrift is learning from other team members.

Jerrett N.

This summer, Jerrett is working with the preconstruction team in the west, connecting with subcontractors, recording bids and awarding bid packages, and doing quantity take-offs using OST. Jerrett plans on graduating from Purdue University in May 2023 with a major in Construction Management and a minor in Turf Management. One fun fact about Jerrett is that he used to show pigs in 4-H. When not at work, Jerrett loves playing golf, flying his drone, and spending time with friends and family. One thing that Jerrett enjoys most about Thompson Thrift is the welcoming culture and working alongside people that genuinely enjoy what they do.

Nate E.

This summer, Nate is working with the project management team on Oakbrook Townhomes and learning to master the punch process. Nate currently attends Purdue University and plans to graduate in May 2024 with a bachelor's degree in Construction Management. One fun fact about Nate is that he has never been on an airplane. When not at work, Nate loves playing sports, reading, making music, and being spontaneous. Nate's favorite thing about his role at Thompson Thrift is getting exposure to different parts of the real estate industry, especially aspects involving quality control, safety management, project management, and more.

Zach W.

This summer, Zach is working alongside the construction team, processing submittals and RFIs, contacting subcontractors, creating change events, and sending out PCOs. Zach will graduate from Indiana State University in December 2022 with a bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering and Technology. One fun fact about Zach is that he has learned to play 14 different instruments. In his free time, Zach loves playing music, gaming, traveling, and trying new foods. Zach's favorite thing about his role at Thompson Thrift is seeing everything he works on in the office take shape on the job site.

Nathan Z.

This summer, Nathan is working with our construction team to do takeoffs, order materials, contact subcontractors, and stay on track of lead times. Nathan is on track to graduate from Ivy Tech Community College in May 2023 with a minor in Business Administration. He plans on attending Indiana State University to pursue a major in Construction Management. One fun fact about Nathan is that he met Morgan Wallen. In his free time, Nathan loves working out, hiking, fishing, and playing sports. Nathan's favorite thing about his role is learning something new every day and getting advice from other team members.

Orian R.

This summer, Orian is working with our Project Estimating team to do takeoffs, observe meetings, and upload drawings and documents on Procore. Orian is currently a senior at Indiana State University, majoring in Construction Management. When not at work, she enjoys weightlifting, drawing, and making art. In her role, Orian loves helping out her team with important tasks.

Jake S.

During his internship, Jake is working in the field alongside our construction team to track manpower counts, update progress plans, and complete safety audits, QC checks, and punch lists. Jake plans to graduate from Colorado State University in May 2024 with a bachelor's degree in Construction Management. When not at work, Jake loves snowboarding, skateboarding, rock climbing, and mountain biking. One fun fact about Jake is that he comes from a family of construction workers since his dad and grandfather both own framing companies. Jake's favorite part about his role is that he learns something new every day about a profession that he is very interested in.

Gabe E.

This summer, Gabe is working with our residential team in the Southeast region to procure equipment, verify submittals and specifications, and complete take-offs to verify counts. Gabe is currently a senior at Purdue University studying Construction Management. In his free time, Gabe loves going skiing and playing golf. One fun fact about Gabe is that he used to play college soccer for a year before transferring to Purdue University. In his role, Gabe loves how he communicates and works with so many different people and departments daily to gain knowledge and experience from various places.

Noah G.

During his internship, Noah is helping out in the field by unloading trucks, filling out paperwork, managing subcontractors, and organizing the site. Noah attends Purdue University and plans to graduate in May 2024 with a bachelor's degree in Construction Management. One fun fact about Noah is that he is a famous YouTuber who wants to start his own custom home business. In his free time, Noah loves camping, cars, YouTube, hiking, volleyball, and roller coasters. In his role, Noah loves the constantly changing environment in the field and that his team makes it fun to come to work every morning.

Caleb U.

This summer, Caleb is working with our residential design team to review and mark up design sets to meet company standards, file geotechnical data, and verify utility plans for many of our communities. Caleb plans on graduating in May 2023 with a major in Civil Engineering and a minor in Spanish from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. One fun fact about Caleb is that he owns four cats. In his free time, Caleb loves playing and watching sports. In his role at Thompson Thrift, Caleb loves that he can be creative, thoughtful, and expressive in each design that he does.

Lauren B.

During her internship, Lauren is working alongside our community management team to perform leasing audits, put together market survey information for regional community managers, and help set up ribbon-cutting events and clubhouse openings for new communities. Lauren recently graduated from Ball State University with a major in Urban Planning and a minor in real estate development. She is currently pursuing her master's degree in Urban Design. In her free time, Lauren loves DJing, playing volleyball, and making art. In her role, Lauren loves interacting with residents, learning more about the industry, and seeing how all the teams and departments work together to create an excellent final product for our residents.

Michael G.

This summer, Michael is working alongside the construction team at Apex in Colorado Springs, CO, to assist in completing daily manpower logs, weekly projections, on-site safety audits, punch lists, and much more. Michael currently attends Colorado State University and plans to graduate in May 2024 with a bachelor's degree in Construction Management. Some fun facts about Michael are that he has served in the Navy for six years and used to race goldfish in San Diego. In his free time, Michael loves snowboarding, mountain biking, and working out. Michael's favorite part about working at Thompson Thrift is the ability to work through problems that require different subcontractor disciplines.

Cole N.

This summer, Cole is working alongside our accounting team to provide financial statement support documents, approve property invoices, and pull construction soft costs for communities under construction. Cole plans to graduate from Manchester University in May 2023 with majors in Finance and Accounting. Cole's favorite color is olive green, and when not at work, he loves jeeping. Cole's favorite thing about his role is the ability to learn the practical applications he has learned in his accounting classes and see how they can impact real financial decisions in a company.

Claire T.

This summer, Claire is working with our TT Serve team, where she is helping to plan events and raise money for our community service partners. Claire currently attends Arizona State University and is planning on graduating in May 2024 with a bachelor's degree in tourism and special events management. In her free time, Claire loves golfing, skiing, and boating. In her role, Claire loves to work alongside experienced professionals daily while helping people in need in the Indianapolis area.

Cassie B.

This summer, Cassie is working alongside our HR team to coordinate new hire orientation each week and plan events for interns. Cassie plans to graduate in December 2022 from Indiana State University with a major in Business Administration and a minor in Human Capital Management. When not at work, Cassie loves spending time with her friends, family, and three cats. Cassie's favorite part about her role at TT is welcoming each new team member during their first few days at Thompson Thrift.

Hunter M.

In his internship, Hunter is working alongside our acquisitions team to complete site selections and rent comps and analyze tax analyses and proforma statements. Hunter currently attends Purdue University and will graduate in May 2024 with a bachelor's degree in Finance with a concentration in Data Science and Real Estate. One fun fact about Hunter is that he has been playing guitar since 8th grade. In his free time, Hunter loves playing sand volleyball, skiing, reading, and being outdoors. Hunter's favorite thing about his role at TT is seeing how his work lays the foundation for a project.
