Job Description

Thompson Thrift is seeking a Temporary Training Coordinator to work out of the corporate office in Indianapolis, IN from approximately May until the end of September.


The Temporary Training Coordinator is primarily focused on supporting the development and execution of training programs to support the objectives of delivering an exceptional team member experience. However, this position is also responsible for participating in the onboarding, coaching team members, and career advancement of new and existing team members. The position requires the development and maintenance as well as the delivery and execution of training materials for key learning programs to ensure expected outcomes are being met. Additionally, this position will provide support around the execution of Thompson Thrift standards, processes, initiatives, and systems.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director of Training & Leadership Development to create, implement, and facilitate training programs to deliver results for identified objectives of the business.
  • Support the business unit leaders to develop, implement, and facilitate training programs to deliver results for identified objectives of the business.
  • Work with business unit leaders to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and determine the appropriate learning and development methodology necessary to achieve the desired results identified.
  • Perform needs analyses to determine appropriate learning/training methods.
  • Recommends/delivers appropriate solutions including, but not limited to, specialized internal training, on or off-site vendor delivered courses, seminars, and workshops. Communicates these training solutions/priorities to the Director of Training and Leadership Development on a weekly basis.
  • Determine appropriate instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, meetings, and workshops to achieve the identified learning objectives.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of all training materials for employee onboarding and existing employees such as job aids, participant guides, and visual aids that support learning objectives.
  • Encourage and coach all training program participants by answering questions and providing real time support as needed.
  • Provide necessary administration of the company’s learning management system.
  • Ensures all projects are timely and in accordance to the budget.
  • Complies with all federal, state, and local employment laws.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent level of education and experience.
  • Training/education and/or human resources experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and Talent Management platforms is a plus.
  • Comfortable with the use of technology to deliver communications and learning: Microsoft Office products of Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • A desire to work collaboratively with management will be essential to the success of this position.
  • Superb organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) skills.
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Passion for customer and team member experience.
