Senior IT Project Manager

Job Description

Thompson Thrift is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to work out of the corporate office in Indianapolis, INThe IT Project Manager role establishes and implements project management processes and methodologies to ensure IT projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high-quality standards and meet customer expectations. Manages technical and non-technical aspects of the project. Plans, schedules, and ensures timely completion of the project. Assembles project teams and manages resource allocation and day-to-day operations of the project. Serves as liaison between team members and management team regarding projects. Works with stakeholders and resources within and outside of the company. Mentor less experienced associates and take the lead in the project prioritization process, including oversight for the project steering committee.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in establishing a Project Management Office to oversee multiple projects.
  • Assisting with project prioritization following established methodology
  • Lead project steering committee with business team leaders
  • Liaising with stakeholders such as project personnel, vendors, and end-users regarding project requirements.
  • Outlining, defining, and initiating the project.
  • Implementing document control policies and documentation templates.
  • Maintaining a good working knowledge of assigned component projects.
  • Evaluating standards of component products.
  • Monitoring project progress and implementing changes where necessary.
  • Monitoring expenditures in accordance with the budget.
  • Ensuring compliance with objectives, organizational policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Compiling project reports and informing management regarding problems.
  • Ensuring project complies with best practices, SOPs, PMO policies, and other policies.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, business, or related field. Or an equivalent level of education and experience.
  • 6 years of experience in an IT project management role.
  • PMP Certification is preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of project management fundamentals.
  • Understanding of software development life cycle.
  • Outstanding leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong people skills.

Performing this job will sometimes require the employee to walk work sites that do not have infrastructure, this includes walking on uneven surfaces, through mud, through ruts, etc. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

The noise in the construction work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee is required to work in compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
