Responsible for insuring compliance of Safety, Health and Risk Management programs through effective policies and procedures, training, compliance audits and working closely with all local, state and federal health and safety regulators as well as our safety and insurance partners.


  • Provide oversight and direction to all staff for safety, insurance and risk management programs, policies and procedures and insure proper execution.
  • Schedules and oversees workplace inspections that identify and address potential safety hazards.
  • Insurance corporate compliance with all local, state, and federal occupational health and safety programs and standards.
  • Conduct new hire orientations and training and assist in completing required HR paperwork.
  • Create and update company safety manuals and material to ensure safety policies and procedures are well documented, communicated and address current regulations and best practices.
  • Evaluate and conduct training for employees in areas of safety and first aid/CPR through internal and external sources.
  • Prepare all OSHA required documentation and postings.
  • Assist Project Managers, Estimators and Superintendents with preconstruction safety plans for subcontractors and review all site safety plans.
  • Ensure job sites are equipped with property safety equipment, signage, manuals, and materials.
  • Conduct periodic job site inspections for safety and risk compliance and generate reports for internal and external distribution with follow-up on action items.
  • Assist with reports of all liability, auto, builder’s risk and workman’s compensation claims through our Insurance & Risk, insurance adjustors and carriers.
  • Lead all accident investigations and report to Insurance and Risk Manager.
  • Work closely with project owner on Builder’s Risk insurance policies and required programs.
  • Manage third party security providers and ensure security procedures are in place for each jobsite.
  • Participate in and assist with corporate insurance renewals.


  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, health, or a related field of stud
  • 5+ years of experience in building construction safety / environmental principles and techniques
  • Knowledge of governmental ES&H standards, rules, and regulations and proficiency in applying them to construction projects.
  • Working knowledge of safe work practices and experience in conducting accident investigations is highly desired.
  • Exceptional computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite programs.
  • Strong management, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving history. Travel to various sites in multiple States will be necessary.

  • OSHA 500, desired but not required
  • CSP designation, desired but not required


  • Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
  • Travel Requirements 50%

Performing this job will sometimes require the employee to walk work sites that do not have infrastructure, this includes walking on uneven surfaces, through mud, through ruts, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires the use of hands to finer, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear (bells, whistles, etc.), stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and the risk of electrical shock.
