IT Security Analyst I

Terre Haute, Indianapolis, IN  •  Full Time

Job Description

Thompson Thrift is seeking to hire a Full-Time IT Security Analyst I to work out of either the Terre Haute, IN or Indianapolis, IN office. As the IT Security Analyst I, you will analyze alerts/security events/logs for threats such as computer viruses, exploits, and malicious attacks. You will use critical thinking to bring together information from multiple sources to determine if a threat is present, as well as effectively notate work completed during an investigation. In this role, you will track incoming alerts from multiple clients, and sources effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Configure antivirus systems and consoles and take care of day-to-day operations and data structures.
  • Conduct threat and risk analysis and provide viable solutions for them.
  • Collect and analyze data to eliminate risk, performance, and capacity issues.
  • Create tools and actively take part in the security architecture reviews.
  • Design and develop security features and procedures.
  • Integrate and deploy security software solutions.
  • Design secure principles and optimize new technology services.
  • Acting as a resource supporting the organization’s Information Security programs and services.
  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of the organization’s Information Security projects and programs.
  • Assisting with the authoring and revision of Information Security Policies and related documents (e.g., standards, processes, procedures, guidelines, etc.).
  • Providing Subject Matter Expertise, addressing such matters as industry standards and practices, Security Policies, implementation of countermeasures and controls, emerging risks, etc.
  • Overseeing ongoing Security Awareness and Training program for the organization.

Preferred Certifications 

  • Security+
  • Network+
  • Or related entry level certification

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience identifying network and host-based threats.
  • Experience analyzing network (PCAP) and computer (Windows Event) logs.
  • Proficient with Mac and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience triaging security alerts.
  • Understand Patch Management
  • Practical experience with computer networks.
  • Practical experience troubleshooting computer processes and applications.
  • Knowledge of Firewall, Antivirus and IDPS concepts.
