Information Technology Project Manager

Job Description

Thompson Thrift is seeking to hire a Full-Time Information Technology Project Manager to work out of either office in Terre Haute, IN or Indianapolis, IN. As the Information Technology Project Manager, you will plan, establish, and manage information technology (IT) projects and will serve as a liaison between the business and technical aspects of assigned projects. In this position, you will work closely with Thompson Thrift Residential Owner’s Representatives, Sr. IT Manager, and the Resident Experience Director to ensure a successful rollout and execution of IT related projects/ tasks.

In this position, we are seeking someone with 2-4 years' experience with a passion for project management and an eagerness to grow in the real estate industry. To be successful in this role, you do not need prior experience directly with IT projects, but rather a proven track record of project management and overseeing the successful execution of project rollouts. 


  • Manage assigned IT projects to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope of project.
  • Develop, maintains, and revises proposals for assigned projects including project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, timelines, funding, and staffing.
  • Set and track project milestones; manages and accounts for unforeseen delays, then realigns schedules and expectations as needed.
  • Establish and implement project communication plans, providing status updates to affected staff and stakeholders.
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize information and trends as needed to prepare project status reports.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of assigned component projects.
  • Evaluate standards of component products.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education/ Experience

  • 2-year Associate's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent education required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 1+ years' experience of progressive IT experience, including experience in a multi-office environment preferred.
  • 2-4 years' experience working as a Project Manager.
  • Knowledge of construction design processes, including the ability to read design drawings preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate efficiently with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of hardware, software and networking basics.
  • Able to manage multiple concurrent projects while continuing to meet project deadlines required.
  • Demonstrated ability to set up, install, configure and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows desktop clients.

Additional Experience 

  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Thorough understanding of project management principles and planning.
  • Thorough understanding of information technology procedures and practices preferred.
  • Proficient with, or able to quickly become proficient with, a range of general and specialized applications, software, and hardware used in the organization and the industry.
  • Knowledge of home automation technologies preferred.


  • 25-50%.
  • This position will require extensive travel with potential for overnight trips. 
  • Travel will depend on property needs, and could vary week to week. 
  • Must hold and maintain a valid US Driver's License in state of residence.
