Job Description
Thompson Thrift is seeking a Full-Time Chief Investment Officer to work out of the corporate office in Indianapolis, IN. This role is responsible for assisting in developing and implementing the investment strategy of the organization. In this capacity, the role will provide guidance to company management regarding investment strategy, alternative sources of capital, capital market trends, optimal longer term hold structures, and data to support decision making. In addition, the role will execute strategy for deploying capital to the most viable development opportunities and maintain strong contacts with investment sources.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the development and implementation of the Company’s investment strategy.
- Manage and cultivate a strong team to support and facilitate the Company’s investment strategy.
- Develop financing and fund-raising strategies for significant organizational projects or initiatives.
- Identifies potential alternative capital sources and structures.
- Report on capital markets trends and provide information to inform and support strategic planning and decision making.
- Oversees the completion of acquisitions, recapitalizations, restructurings, and transactions for all business units.
- Oversees financial modeling and related forecasting to provide timely informed decision making.
- Establishes internal controls for monitoring assets, capital investments, controlling costs, and measuring liquidity.
- Summarizes the financial status of the portfolio (interpret asset ratios, break-even analysis reports, profit margins, operating costs, and other metrics used in measuring fiscal stability).
- Provide analysis and recommendations related to dispositions or long-term hold of assets.
- Executing on the strategy of deploying capital into the most viable development opportunities to maximize shareholder/general partner returns including the debt and equity capital markets, fund investment/formation, debt markets and structures, while maintaining strong contacts with multiple investment sources.
- Actively participate in the Investment Committee and asset management function of the held portfolio.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate or related field of study and an MBA.
- 15 years of progressive experience in a similar job or field. With at least 7 years’ experience in a management capacity.
- Investment banking background with a real estate focus preferred.

Performing this job requires the use of hands to finer, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear (bells, whistles, etc.), stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
